XLII 90 (ex•el•too•nine•tee) – An Experimental and Gratuitously Hopped Beer Delivery Mechanism
While the days of sending blank tapes and postage in the mail to kind strangers promising high quality concert recordings, often with hand written and uniquely doodled J-cards, are a thing of the past, we remain nostalgic for those slower paced, tactile, analog times. Back in those days, the XLII90 was THE tape traders choice.
In our 2017 tour closer DIPA, we pay tribute to this bygone piece of analog technology by filling it with a second set of hopped-up experimental jams. We close out this hop show with a bang – Busting out a dank and resinous Eureka! into a spicy experimental, banana/pear Jarrylo jam and then segue back into a tropical tinged Eureka!. Our dry-hopped encore is one for the books. A familiar fan favorite Simcoe kicks us off, followed by the tour debut of the lovely floral and citrus-laden Loral. We close out this epic set with a monster Medusa, complete with a Guava/Melon duel and a final transition back into the dark stone-fruit zone of Eureka!.
Direct from our soundboard to your mouth, XLII 90, is the DIPA for serious hopophiles.
