Theory of Everything

Hoppy Belgian Golden Ale

Our third annual brew for Ales For ALS had us contemplating the big questions. What connects us to everything else? Stephen Hawking, arguably the foremost Theoretical Physicist of our time and ALS sufferer, once believed in a Theory of Everything – “a hypothetical single, all-encompassing, coherent theoretical framework of physics that fully explains and links together all physical aspects of the universe” could be found. However after much contemplation, Hawking concluded: “Some people will be very disappointed if there is not an ultimate theory, that can be formulated as a finite number of principles. I used to belong to that camp, but I have changed my mind.”

But we’re brewers, not physicists. Rather than make our heads explode contemplating the universe, we grabbed the 2016 Ales for ALS hop blend, with all its tropical fruit and citrus aromas, some nice Belgian-style yeast, and some soft, subtle, light malts and brewed up this hoppy golden ale. The result is a beer that makes up our own liquid theory of how everything in a beer should connect. The fruit-forward aromas of bold North American hops. The spicy, estery notes of good Belgian-style yeast. And the soft bready backbone of pale malt.

A portion of the proceeds of every pint sold of Theory of Everything goes to help ALS/TDI research.
