Calling all beer enthusiasts: We're excited to announce that our 3rd annual Homebrew Contest is back! 

Enter your home-brewed beers to be judged by a certified panel or come as a taster to help determine our People's Choice.

FOR TASTERS: Come down and support your favorite homebrewer and discover some new brews at Terrapin-owned Union Craft Brewing. Attendees will receive a souvenir sample glass and 2 votes in the People's Choice award. 

FOR BREWERS: Competitors must have at least one UMD alumni on their team to compete. Brewers will have the option of submitting 1 or 2 beers for the competition. Awards will be given for “Best in Show” and for “People's Choice.”  

The "Best in Show" prize will be evaluated by a panel of judges who are experts in homebrewing. Brewers must submit one bottle of their brew to the judging panel to be evaluated. The "People's Choice" prize will be selected based on popular vote from beer enthusiasts and the other competitors.

Cost to Participate: 
Brewer: $10    
Taster: $10    
Designated drivers and non-drinkers are free but should be registered to attend.

Families are welcome! Shared appetizers will be provided. 

A note for Brewers: Brewers will need to provide 4 oz. samples to all attendees and competitors. We recommend providing a minimum of 2 six packs and a maximum of 8 six packs (corny keg) of the competing brew. The estimated guest attendance will be shared closer to the event date, but it is the brewer's responsibility to provide enough samples to compete. There will be some ice on site, but it's a good idea to bring some of your own to chill your beer.
