Today I am going to surprise you. I decided to go on a tour to help better my skills and knowledge and becoming a better 'rounded' spirit, hospitality marketer. That being said, I took a tour of the closest brewery to my home UNION CRAFT BREWING. Greeted by two of the three co-owners Adan Benesch and Jon Zerivitz (seen left to right with CITYPEEK's Patti Neumann in center) in the lobby aka Tasting Room, I started my educated jouney. I learned we all great up in the same part of town, Northwest Baltimore!

L-R: Jon, Adam, & Kevin

Beer unites. That's our philosophy here at Union Craft Brewing. We are three guys brought together by a love of beer, Baltimore and limitless possibilities. While the brew kettle was fired up for the first time in June of 2012, Union Craft took several years of planning to come to fruition.

Over many long days & nights of great beers, google hangouts, in person meetings at our favorite local pubs, and more beer— Adam, Jon and Kevin worked tirelessly to craft a business plan that would help us achieve our goal of opening Baltimore's first production brewery in more than 30 years. Each of us brought a unique set of skills and experience to the mix: Kevin has nearly a decade of professional brewing experience from working at some well respected nationally known breweries; Jon brought a graphic designer's eye combined with sharp marketing skills from his past career and Adam brought financial and operational expertise from his time at a leading venture capital firm. After the business plan was complete and with the support of our amazing wives & families, we took the plunge and began raising the funds to open Union Craft Brewing while searching for the perfect site in the heart of Baltimore.

With funds secured from a supportive group of investors, things began to take off when we found the perfect location next to the Jones Falls in between two great Baltimore neighborhoods, Hampden & Woodberry. Construction began on our space in December of 2011 and was finished in May of 2012.

Inspired by our home town & driven to create community based around quality, locally crafted beers, we brew with a Baltimore heart in the heart of Baltimore. Join us at the brewery for a tour and a taste. Drink local. Drink UNION.

The Brewery

Situated along the Jones Falls river, in the historic Woodberry neighborhood of Baltimore, the Union Craft Brewery makes good beer and good company. With reverence for tradition and place we brew beers that unite old and new ideas, the science and craft of brewing, and boldness and balance of flavor.
Founded in the fall of 2011 by Kevin Blodger, Adam Benesch and Jon Zerivitz, brewing operations officially began in the spring of 2012 with the installation of a 20 barrel brewhouse and the initial launch of Duckpin Pale Ale. The brewery is open to the public for free tours and tastings every Saturday from 1-4pm. Please see the Tasting Room and Tour Info section on our website for more information.

Beer Unites!

Beer is the union of water, barley, hops and yeast. A brewery is the union of beer, its brewers and the community it serves. Beer Unites! is not just a tagline, its the underlying philosophy of everything we
believe in as a business. Good beer brings good people together for good times—and good deeds. Watch this space for announcements and updates about upcoming UCB events and projects.

Saturday 12-12 am

We brewed our very first batch of beer at UCB last July. In one year, we have brewed about 1400 barrels, 14 different styles, expanded our brewing capacity by 70%, distributed our beer to every corner of Maryland and DC, hosted and produced a bunch of great events and have had met countless wonderful people along the way.

AND WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED!

To kick off year two, we need YOU to help us send year one off in style.

On Saturday July 27th, please join us at the brewery for our 1st Anniversary Celebration! We'll be joined by some amazing friends to help us do this up right:

• WTMD's Scott Mullin's hosts The Dirty Soul Party LIVE!
• Food from Woodberry Kitchen, Birroteca, & The Food Market
• Legendary Globe Poster show
• Two new BIG beer releases including a very special 1st Anniversary brew
• Limited edition glassware

A $35 VIP ticket includes admission, 3 food tickets, a limited edition glass, and your 1st beer.

Tickets are now on sale at
